UK TOP 10 SINGLES CHART W/E January 31st 1970

Edison Lighthouse - Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes 7 inch vinyl record picture sleeve singleOkay! I’ve decided early on in this project that doing the full top 20 singles charts for the whole of the seventies is probably going to take a little longer than my mortal lifespan will allow. So from this week forward I’m gonna stick to top ten charts instead.
Sorry about that.
This week we see the first ‘new’ number one single of the seventies. Shooting in from nowhere, Edison Lighthouse are the act to finally topple Rolf Harris from the top spot.
As mentioned last week, Edison Lighthouse were a studio band consisting of session musicians and fronted by vocalist Tony Burrows.
Although Edison Lighthouse turned out to be One Hit Wonders, Tony Burrows enjoyed more chart success as a vocalist with White Plains, The Pipkins, The First Class and Brotherhood Of Man.
