Genre-busting electro-pop pioneers Goldfrapp release their fourth studio album, ‘Seventh Tree’ on February 25th. The vinyl version of this modern classic will be very limited. The LP comes in a gatefold sleeve with a great fold-out Goldfrapp poster. Seventh Tree sees Goldfrapp return to the more ethereal feel of their 2000 debut, ‘Felt Mountain’ as opposed the glitter glamour of 2005’s ‘Supernature’.

RELEASE DATE - December 27th.
On December 27th, Creams classic Disraeli Gears gets the Limited Edition 180gram Vinyl LP treatment. Recorded in the U.S. in a three-and-a-half day flurry of inspired activity before the band members’ visas expired, DISRAELI GEARS continued to present the legendary, unprecedented rock power-trio acrobatics pioneered by Cream on their debut FRESH CREAM. The acronymic “SWLABR (She Walked Like a Bearded Rainbow)” for instance, featured some of the band’s most fiery instrumental interplay. The album, with its eye-catching day-glo cover, was produced by Felix Pappalardi (who went on to co-found the Cream-inspired Mountain) and once again featured collaborations between singer/bassist Jack Bruce and lyric poet Pete Brown. The Top Five hit “Sunshine Of Your Love”, however, was written by Brown and Eric Clapton. That iconic riff-rocker, along with the slinky, bluesy “Strange Brew”, and the mythographic, wah-wah stomper “Tales of Brave Ulysses” was a staple of rock radio forever after, making DISRAELI GEARS one of the seminal ’60s rock albums. Despite the good humor suggested by the jokey a capella reading of “Mother’s Lament”, however, all was far from peace and love in the Cream camp at the time, as internal and external pressures broke up the band by the end of 1968.

The most talked about download album of the year now gets the vinyl LP treatment. Musically, this release can be seen as a logical culmination of much of the band’s previous work, incorporating the avant-garde electronics of later records and more traditional guitar-heavy elements synonymous with their inception. The overt political themes of previous album ‘Hail To The Thief’ are largely jettisoned for an altogether more romantic milieu, with songs such as ‘Videotape’ and ‘Nude’ showcasing the intimate nature of singer Thom Yorke’s voice.

Originally released in 1979, Nick Drake’s legendary box set ‘Fruit Tree’ gets a welcome reissue. This particular vinyl version of ‘Fruit Tree’ is a four-disc box set featuring all three of Nick Drake’s studio LP’s, ‘Five Leaves Left’ (1969), ‘Bryter Layter’ (1970), and ‘Pink Moon’ (1972) plus a DVD of the 1986 documentary film ‘A Skin Too Few’ by Dutch film-maker Jeroen Berkvens. The box set will also feature a 108 page book which features comprehensive lyric sheets, exclusive interviews with Nick’s producer Joe Boyd and engineer John Wood who discuss each song Nick recorded under their auspices, a song-by-song musical breakdown and history by Robin Frederick and the original sleevenotes by Arthur Lubow.
